About the Role
General practice has generally embraced information technology over the last three decades and the electronic GP held record is arguably the most accurate and comprehensive patient record held in the NHS at present. In today’s digital world people expect to be able to interact with services through technology. While local and national digital strategies support this move to online interactions with initiative such as online consultations, video consultations, NHS App, NHS Login, electronic prescription service, GP Online and access to patient held records, little practical support has been provided to patients to support them with making the most of the digital offerings available to them and access to support for using these tools is limited at best.
