South West London Training Hub Work Experience Internship 2025

South West London Training Hub is proud to offer a range of career development opportunities, including our highly anticipated Work Experience Internship.

We are excited to announce that applications for the 2025 Work Experience Programme will open on Monday, 24th March 2025. This three-day internship is a unique opportunity for Year 12 students in state schools across South West London to gain real insight into primary care. Participants will take part in classroom-based learning, hear directly from NHS professionals, and shadow staff in GP practices to explore both clinical and non-clinical career paths.

Programme Overview

• Classroom Learning: Students will attend sessions on CV building, interview skills, professional image, social media awareness, and an introduction to primary care careers.

• On-Site Experience: Students will shadow healthcare professionals in a variety of roles within GP practices across South West London.

• Real-World Exposure: While maintaining patient confidentiality, students will engage in activities designed to give them a comprehensive understanding of primary care.

Important Notes

• Eligibility: Open only to Year 12 students in state schools. Independent school students are not eligible for this round.

• High Demand: Placements are highly competitive and cannot be guaranteed, so early applications are encouraged.

• Unpaid Placements: This is an unpaid internship, and SWL Training Hub does not cover travel, subsistence, parking, or accommodation costs.

• Confidentiality: Students will not be involved in any activities that breach patient confidentiality.
